K. Srinivas of Hyderabad selected for 6th World Carrom Championship Team


Colombo 31st October: 6th World Carrom Championship, with 18 countries figuring in the competitions, the highest ever was inaugurated by the Sports Minister of Sri Lanka Mr. Mahinda Nanda Aluthgamage. As per Shri S.K. Sharma, Secretary General of International Carrom Federation, the new entrants to the championship and also the International Carrom Federation are Poland, Czech Republic, Canada and Qatar. K. Srinivas of Hyderabad was also selected as part of the four member team for 6th World Carrom Championship.

The five day event concluding on 4th November, 2012 at Hotel Galada, Colombo carries Men and Women Doubles on 31st Oct., Team Championship on 1st Nov, Swiss League matches on Nov 2, and Men and Women Singles on Nov 3 & 4. Minister of Environment Mr. Udaya Gammanpila and Mr. Arif Naqvi President of International Carrom Federation were amongst other who took part in the inaugural function held today. Ms. Rohini Mathiasz, Organizing Secretary of the World Championship welcomed the players and officials.
