Hyderabad A&B Teams moved in to the semi finals of 40th Sr.Inter Dist. Cum state carrom championship
Hyderabad January 11/2012 (Hyderabad Deccan News) : Hyderabad A&B Teams as expected, moved in to the semi finals of 40th Sr.Inter Dist. Cum state carrom championship in progress at Yoga Hall at Lal Bahadur Stadium. Thronging crowds made moving very difficult but it made no difference to the players who continued to give their best. Hyderabad A consisting of Asian no.2 K.Srinivas, past Indian No.2 Dinesh Babu had a clear edge over Ranga Reddy B team. R Dinesh Babu bt S.Aditya 25-07, 25-07, K.Srinivas bt Udaykumar 25-0, 25-09, VSK Naidu and L Suryaprakash bt Saisantosh and Giridhar 25-07,25-22 for Hyderabad to win by margin of 3-0. Hyderbad B however conceded a point before they prevailed over Medak B at 2-1. A Jayakumar lost to Jaffer at 3-25, and 13-25, MA Hakeem however, brought Hyderabad B in level with Medak B by defeating Sandeep at 25-10, 25-07, V Anilkumar and S. Ramesh clinched the issue for Hyderabad B by accounting for Vamsi and Bhasker at 25-07 and 25-08.
Men's singles event attracted 214 entries with RD Dinesh Babu of AGORC getting the top seed followed by VSK Naidu of RBI as second seed. But all the eyes are on K. SRINIVAS current ASIA no.2 who is placed in the quarter of L.Suryaprakash, the 5th seed generating lot of interest.
