Cash awards ceremony for the secretaries of all disciplines

Hyderabad January 05/2012 (Hyderabad Deccan News) : A meeting of the Secretaries of disciplines whose players are figuring in the list of SAAP for cash incentives was convened by APOA at Olympic Bhavan today. In all cash incentives will be given by CM on 10th Jan at Lal Bahadur Indoor Stadium for 452 medals won by players of Andhra Pradesh, who represented India in the Asian Championship (Gangchow), recognised International Events, 34th National Games of Ranchi and the Nationals of different disciplines. With SAAP representatives also participating in the meeting, the meeting became more meaningful and productive. Every aspect of cash incentive distribution ceremony was discussed in threadbare, with everybody being keen in organising the function in an orderly fashiion. Representatives of the Associations left the meeting contended, when an assurance was given that "it is only a beginning" but not an end to the process of encouraging achievers of the state in sports and it was agreed that different Associations are welcome to submit the details of other medal winners who would have been in medals later to the preparation of the present list. The issue of medallists of Non olympic disciplines not being considered now for cash incentives, though it was not so earlier, also came up. APOA representatives assured that the issue would be taken up with the Government seperately after analysing the existing orders related to the subject. It is quite possible that number of medallists may not be available to collect the cheques as few major Internatinal Events and some nationals are in progress at different places. APOA with the help of the concerned 10 State Sports Associations to prepare the list of the available players, while taking every possible step to ensure that the players available in India do collect the incentives in person from Hon'ble Chief Minister, who agreed to give the cash prizes at 3.00 pm on 10th January at Lal Bahadur Indoor Stadium, Hyderabad.
