Bengal Tigers CCL team gets new players

Kolkata, Nov 11 (IBNS): The selection process for the Bengal Tigers team of the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) has reached its crescendo, with around 20 players finalized for Season 3.

The new additions to the team are actors Gaurab Chakraborty and Arjun Chakraborty among others, the outfit announced on Sunday.

Tollywood actor Jeet will lead the team for Season 3 while actor Jishu Sengupta has been selected as the Vice Captain of Bengal Tigers.

"I do the needful on field. I am not new to cricket so I know exactly how to deal with the players," said Jishu.

This year CCL has put across some strict criterion like the celebrity players need to act in lead roles in at least 3 to 5 movies or appear as actors in at least 10 minute sequence of any film.

"This year we lost several good players which is sad, but at the same time we have to follow the rules," said Jishu.

Selector Deep Dasgupta added,"True, we lost several talents but the concept is that film stars should play."

The practice session will start in a few days once the final process of selection gets over, the organisers said.

"The coaches are tough so there will be rigorous practices ahead. For me shooting schedules do not hamper the practices because if you have passion for something nothing is impossible," Jishu commented.

"They are decent cricketers and very hard working as well as dedicated. They have fan following and it is not just about playing but to spread awareness on fitness, and being healthy," said Dasgupta.

In place of other field personalities spreading the awareness, Deep feels celebrities doing so is more effective.

While the organizers feel that lack of awareness in the last session did not reap good fruits for the team, winning is the only mantra for Bengal Tigers in this Season.
