40th Inter District cum State Carrom championship

Hyderabad January 12/2012 (Hyderabad Deccan News) : Hyderabad A will take on Hyderabad B in the men's event of 40th Inter District cum State Carrom championship in progress at Yoga Hall at Lal Bahadur Stadium. In the Semi finals played here today afternoon, Hyderabad A bt Nalgonda by a margin of 2-1 winning Two singles but losing in doubles.
Hyderabad B also won by similar margin of 2-1 accounting for Ranga Reddy A team.

In t he tie between Hyd"A" and Nalgonda in the first singles L Suryaprakash bt Sharukhkhan at 25-06, 16-25 and 25-09. In the second game of the match Sharuk Khan trailing at 10-12 scored a white slam to jump to 22, ultimately winning at 25-16. However in the third game, L Suryaprakash gave a no room winning at 20-09. Past India No.2 RD Dinesh Babu of Hyd A bt Taufiq at 25-07 and 25-11. However in the doubles Hyd A team of VSK Naidu and K Srinivas lost to Mohammed and Ahmed at 13-20,12-18 conceding a point though it did not make any impact on the final result.

MA Hakeem of Hyd B came from behind to defeat Wasim of RR A at 09-18, 25-18,13-03 in the first singles.In the second singjles B Anilkumar of Hyd.B bt S Rana of RR A at 25-21,25-02. RR A had the consolation of taking the doubles match when they bt Vijaykrishna and Ashok of RR A bt. S.Naveen and S Ramesh at 25-02,25-24.

Whereas the Men's singles are in progress Womens singles event reached Pre-Quarter finals. The highest ever entries of 64 had been received in the Women's singles event. This forced the organizers to shift the venue of the event to the Regional Carrom Coaching centre of SAAP at Indoor stadium, in all matches are progress on 28 boards.
