Hyderabad January 20/2012 (Hyderabad Deccan News) : "The hope for the world exists through the mystical dimension of life" these words used to be repeated by the revered philosopher, theologian, apostle of dialogue of mystic Prof Raimon Panikkar. Hence, we at Henry Martyn Institute (HMI) heeding to the call of the great master would like to hold a conference of Mysticism East and west to honour his revered memory as well as search for new meaning and purposeful existence in an atmosphere of active pro-existence by bringing together mystics,and people who are interested for few days study of mysticismwith the intention to open up the avenues for further dialogue with the intention to open up the avenues for further dialoque and action in this field.we intend to make it a living together through availability, worship, sharing sat sangh, feflection, intellectual search and above all honest and sincere opening up of ourselves in front of the others and the Other who constantly challenges us for a transformed and renewed existence. Although we are the makers of our own renewed existence. Although we are the makers of our own destiny we inter subjectively depend on one another for better understanding of our own life and convictions, and also when we expose ourselves to other traditions we become capable of self-criticism and better grounding in our own faith.
Themes for the conference include but not limited to grade, compassion, pluralism, the 'other' annihilation for the self, love, hammony, justice, peace, identity, gender, spirituality, boundaries, acceptance, transcendence, ecstasy, healing and inter-subjectivity. Program outline shall be developed at the introduction session on the opening day of the conference.

Objectives
To bring together thinkers and practitioners from East and West who are interested in meaningful religious experience.
To provide the space for practicing mystics to connect with fellow participants/resource persons and the divine
To share, learn and experience from one another's spiritual/mystical attainment that is distinctively shaped by their religious teachings and traditions.
To seek ways and means to realize the insights into action in the context of pluralism and to counteract various forms of fundamentalism
Being present to one another to radiate the experience of transcendence, harmony and peace.

Outcomes
Pro-active and pro-existential involvement in a positive in transformation and transcendence.
Insights and illumination on some key themes/topics/issues.
To become spiritually nourished, renewed and rejuvenated papers presented in the conference to be published in the form of a book and to be publish in HMI journal, also to have an e-format of the whole conference.

Invitees of the Conference
The participants to the conference would include but not limited to scholars in religion, practicing mystics and/or representatives from various religious institutions.

Rhythm of the Day
The day will begin with interfaith prayer representing various religions in to form of bhajans, prayers recitations,scriptural readings, etc. After the paper presentations and panel discussions are over, evening programmes will highlight how various religious traditions lead us to experience the other in the form of Qawwali, veena recital, Bhajans, dance and so on.
