"Preparations have been good'
Hyderabad, August 3: India's chief National coach P. Gopi Chand is happy with the preparations of the players for the World badminton championship, to be held in London from August 8. "The preparations have been really good and the players are in the right frame of mind.
"World No. 6 Saina Nehwal in women's singles and G. Jwala and Ashwini Ponappa in doubles along with the mixed doubles pair of Jwala and Diju are our best hopes,' he said.
Favourable draw
"The draw seems pretty favourable for Saina. But, it depends on how well any player cuts down on the negatives. She lined up to play against players whom she has beaten in the past. So, it is not a question of running into an unknown challenge,' said Gopi.
"Saina is fit and raring to go but we are hoping that everything will fall into place,' said Gopi. This will be Saina's fourth World championship.
"The women's doubles pair of Jwala and Ashwini is combining well.
"They have a wonderful understanding and are capable of producing good results. The mood is certainly upbeat,' said Gopi. (Agencies)
