Never promised Centre to get T resolution: Rosaiah

Hyderabad, August 7(Hyderabad Deccan News): "When I was chief minister, I clearly told the AICC president, Ms Sonia Gandhi, that it was not possible for him to get a resolution on formation of separate Telangana state passed in the Legislative Assembly', the former chief minister, Mr K Rosaiah, has said.
Participating in a new channel's debate, Mr Rosaiah went emotional on the allegations made by the Congress MP from Nalgonda, Mr Gutha Sukhender Reddy, that the former had enacted dramas on the Assembly resolution. He made it clear that he had not assured the party high command to get a resolution for separate Telangana State passed in the Assembly. He also clarified that there was no truth in the allegations that he had promised the Centre to get a resolution on Telangana passed in the Assembly.
"I don't stoop to such level. I am ready to tell the same by taking oath on god at any temple', he maintained. The former chief minister said that the Union Home Minister, Mr P. Chidambaram, made a statement on Telangana issue on December 9, 2009 when he was in mid-air to Hyderabad from New Delhi. He came to know the announcement after reaching Hyderabad. Stating that Telangana statehood was a critical issue, Mr Rosaiah claimed that the Centre and the Congress high command were making sincere efforts to find a solution to the issue. He exuded confidence that they would show a solution to this thorny issue. Mr Roasiah, a senior-most Congress leader in the State has expressed his inability to suggest steps to solve the present situation prevailing in the State.

Eka Veera postponed to March 2

Hyderabad, Feb 23 (INN): The discipline of old times is gone, so it appears. When a commitment is given people used to stick to that. Arm twisting by biggies is not a new phenomenon but still there was respect for values.

Now everything is done in a huff, from launch to pack-up, audio to result. What is more surprising is films are getting delayed, postponed and badly bruised.

Of late there have been many films that deferred the date of release due to what has come to be known as post production work. Announcing the date first and working at breakneck speed has become a fad which will have its ill-effects.

Dabbawallas will take a day off on August 16

Mumbai, August 5: Extending support to social activist Anna Hazare over the Lokpal Bill issue, Mumbai's famous dabbawallas (lunch-box carriers) on Friday said there would be no service on August 16, the day he proposed to start his hunger strike.
About 4,500-5,000 dabbawallas transport some 2,00,000 homemade lunch packs every day at a very low fee and with surprising punctuality. But not on August 16.
"We support Anna Hazare in his fight for the strong Lokpal Bill. On August 16, when Annaji would go on a fast, we have decided to show our support by asking our customers not to give tiffins for delivery,' said President o .... Read More
