Jeevan asks CM to put off SI test

Hyderabad, August 4(Hyderabad Deccan News): Alleging that the Centre was adopting delay tactics even in the case of abolition of 14(F) Clause though the State Assembly sent unanimous resolution 16 months back, the former minister, Mr T Jeevan Reddy, has demanded that the Chief Minister postpone the SI Recruitment Examination until the abolition of 14(F) Clause of Presidential Order.
Speaking at the Assembly media point here on Thursday, Mr Jeevan Reddy said that even the Deputy Chief Minister, Mr Damodar Rajanarasimha, too appealed to the Centre to scrap 14(F) Clause. He said that the Chief Minister has to go Delhi along with the all-party leaders for the removal of 14(F) Clause instead of addressing letters to the Centre if he was sincere towards the issue.
Stating that the CPM, MIM and Lok Satta parties also extended their support for the abolition of 14(F) Clause, he said that the Congress party will be weakened in Telangana region if the State government conducted the SI examination with the help of police security.
Finding fault with the Chief Minister for saying that there were no posts of Sis vacant in Hyderabad City, he asked the former as to how he sent a report to the Centre stating that there were 200 SI posts and 3000 Constable posts vacant in Hyderabad City. It was not proper to the Chief Minister to behave like a Seemandhra region's Chief Minister, he alleged.
Denying the rumor that the Malkajgiri MP, Mr Sarve Satyanarayana, had lost the chance of becoming a Union Minister just because of the Rajya Sabha MP, Dr K Keshav Rao, he said that the selection of candidates for the Union Cabinet posts was done by the AICC Chief, Ms Sonia Gandhi, and not by Dr Keshav Rao.

Eka Veera postponed to March 2

Hyderabad, Feb 23 (INN): The discipline of old times is gone, so it appears. When a commitment is given people used to stick to that. Arm twisting by biggies is not a new phenomenon but still there was respect for values.

Now everything is done in a huff, from launch to pack-up, audio to result. What is more surprising is films are getting delayed, postponed and badly bruised.

Of late there have been many films that deferred the date of release due to what has come to be known as post production work. Announcing the date first and working at breakneck speed has become a fad which will have its ill-effects.

Dabbawallas will take a day off on August 16

Mumbai, August 5: Extending support to social activist Anna Hazare over the Lokpal Bill issue, Mumbai's famous dabbawallas (lunch-box carriers) on Friday said there would be no service on August 16, the day he proposed to start his hunger strike.
About 4,500-5,000 dabbawallas transport some 2,00,000 homemade lunch packs every day at a very low fee and with surprising punctuality. But not on August 16.
"We support Anna Hazare in his fight for the strong Lokpal Bill. On August 16, when Annaji would go on a fast, we have decided to show our support by asking our customers not to give tiffins for delivery,' said President o .... Read More
