Home grown terror could have caused Mumbai blasts: Chidambaram

New Delhi, August 4: Home Minister P. Chidambaram said that while there was a finger-pointing for every terror incident towards the neighbouring country, a clear reference to Pakistan, there is also an existence of home grown terror modules as also right-wing fascist forces.
The Home Minister, while speaking on a debate in Rajya Sabha on internal security on Thursday, said there are indications of involvement of Indian module in the July 13 Mumbai blasts that killed 26 people.
It is for the first time that the government has pointed towards the involvement of a home grown terror group for the three explosions in the metropolis.
The Home Minister also said all over the world right-wing fascist forces were on the rise and India is no exception to it.
"While no conclusion has been reached, all indications point to Indian module,' Mr. Chidambaram said about the Mumbai blasts, adding that perhaps it could be the same module that carried out a blast in the German Bakery in Pune last year.
"We cannot live in denial. We cannot close our eyes to facts. There are home grown modules. Indian modules. They do not belong to one religion,' Mr. Chidambaram said.
He said the Pune and Mumbai blasts are "two major blots' in the last 32 months since he assumed the charge of Home Minister. "I accept it,' he said.
Mr. Chidambaram said another mistake was to point fingers at a particular religion whenever a bomb blast took place. (Agencies)

Eka Veera postponed to March 2

Hyderabad, Feb 23 (INN): The discipline of old times is gone, so it appears. When a commitment is given people used to stick to that. Arm twisting by biggies is not a new phenomenon but still there was respect for values.

Now everything is done in a huff, from launch to pack-up, audio to result. What is more surprising is films are getting delayed, postponed and badly bruised.

Of late there have been many films that deferred the date of release due to what has come to be known as post production work. Announcing the date first and working at breakneck speed has become a fad which will have its ill-effects.

Dabbawallas will take a day off on August 16

Mumbai, August 5: Extending support to social activist Anna Hazare over the Lokpal Bill issue, Mumbai's famous dabbawallas (lunch-box carriers) on Friday said there would be no service on August 16, the day he proposed to start his hunger strike.
About 4,500-5,000 dabbawallas transport some 2,00,000 homemade lunch packs every day at a very low fee and with surprising punctuality. But not on August 16.
"We support Anna Hazare in his fight for the strong Lokpal Bill. On August 16, when Annaji would go on a fast, we have decided to show our support by asking our customers not to give tiffins for delivery,' said President o .... Read More
