Servant arrested for Murder of Senior citizen in Jangupra Police station Hazrat Nizamuddin

New Delhi December 26/2011 : With the arrest of Jagat Bahadur S/o Nar Bahadur R/o Vill. Bawla Modali, ward No. 4, PS Mangal Sen, Distt. Anchal, Nepal, age 19 years and Karan Bahadur S/o Kal Bahadur R/o Vill. Bhulli, Jumla Anchal, Nepal, age 24 years, the South East District police under the supervision of Addl DCP Meghna Yadav, Sh. Data Ram, ACP/New Friends Colony and under the joint teams of Insp. Sunil Kumar Singh, SHO/P.S. New Friends Colony, Insp. Sunil Gupta, SHO/P.S. Sun Light Colony, Insp. Harendra Singh NFC, Insp. Baney Singh H.N. Din, Insp. Akhilesh Yadav I/C Special Staff/South-East Distt. and Insp. Govind Sharma, SHO/Amar Colony has worked out sensational murder of Smt. Bimala Shah, a senior citizen residing at Jangpura. The case was registered vide FIR no. 317/11 u/s 302/394/411/34-IPC at police station Hazrat Nizamuddin.
Facts of the Case:
On 31/10/2011, an information vide DD No. 15 was received at PP Jungpura, PS Hazrat Nizamuddin through PCR regarding commission of theft at K-7, Jungpura Extn., New Delhi. On reaching at the spot, one Smt. Rita Asirvatham W/o D. R. Asirvatham R/o K-7, 3rd floor, Jungpura Extn., New Delhi informed that a theft had occurred at the 2nd floor of this building where Smt. Bimla Shah W/o Late Sh. K.L. Shah had been residing along with her son, Sh. Bharat Rattan Shah. Sh. Shah along with his wife had gone to Singapore and one Nepali servant known as Jagat was staying with Smt. Bimla Shah. The spot inspection revealed that the main door of 2nd floor was open and house hold items were found lying scattered. Smt. Bimla Shah, aged about 80 years, was lying dead in the bathroom attached with her bedroom. Both hands of deceased were found tied from back and cloth was found tied over her face & neck. Blood stained towel and pillow were also lying near the dead body. Crime team & FSL teams were called at the spot. A case FIR no. 317/11 u/s 302-IPC was registered in police station Hazrat Nizamuddin and investigations were entrusted to Insp. Banay Singh.
During investigation all vital clues indicating towards the perpetrators of crime were collected from the scene of crime. The post mortem of the dead body was got conducted at AIIMS and dead body was handed over to the son of deceased.
Investigation conducted and Identity of accused person established:
The investigation revealed that there are 50 persons of the village of suspects i.e. Vill. Bawla Modali, ward No. 4, PS Mangal Sen, Distt. Achan, Nepal who are working as chowkidar in different parts of Delhi i.e. Mehrauli, Mukharji Nagar, Kishangarh, Bhogal and Jungpura. Sustained interrogation of these chowkidars led the police to one Prakash who had introduced Jagat to Shah family for employment as servant. The family had not got the servant verified. However, after interrogation identity and photograph of suspects (1) Jagat Bahadur S/O Nar Bahadur R/O Vill. Bawla Modali, Ward No. 4, PS Mangal Sen, Distt. Aham, Seti Anchal, Nepal (2) Chakhe Sawad @ Chandra Bahadur S/O Sagre Sawad R/O Vill. Bawla Modali, ward No. 4, PS Mangal Sen, Distt. Aham, Seti Anchal, Nepal was established.
Suspecting that the accused might escape to Nepal three teams were stationed at Sonauli, Tanakpur & Nepal Ganj at Indo-Nepal border Hue & Cry notices along with reward of Rs. 50,000/- was circulated. The investigation revealed that the suspects were hiding at Kotkhai, Shimla (H.P). Two police teams were stationed in the same area at different locations i.e. Kotkhai and Rahru (Himachal Pradesh).
Accused Jagat Bahadur arrested:
The continuous efforts to locate the suspect materialized when one of the team headed by Insp. Harendra Singh, P.S. New Friends Colony stationed at Banbasa check post, Tanakpur received secret information that accused Jagat Bahadur will try to cross over to Nepal through this border to reach his native village. The team was having the photograph and a Naka was put at strategic location to nab the prime accused. At around 3 PM, Inspector Harender Singh and his team spotted Jagat Bahadur, the suspect, while trying to sneak into Nepal. Jagat Bahadur was nabbed and was put to sustained interrogation and he disclosed to have committed the crime.
Conspiracy and execution revealed by the accused:
Jagat Bahadur disclosed that he joined as domestic help at Kothi No. K-7, Jang Pura Extension in the month of August' 2011. Sh. Bharat Rattan Shah along with his wife had gone to Singapore on 17/18th Oct'11 leaving behind the old mother alone in the house. One maid named Seema was also working there. He took two day off from the old lady before Diwali and met Chandra and Lalit at Mukherji Nagar. He stayed with them at their place. They all hatched the conspiracy to rob the old lady staying alone. Lalit had earlier visited this kothi. Jagat Bahadur came back to his work a day after Diwali. On the fateful day, the maid named Seema left one hour early as she was expecting some guest. The duo, namely Lalit Bhadur and Chandra came to the Kothi and Jagat controlled the dog to let both of them in the kothi. Jagat Bahadur along with his two accomplices entered into the room of the old lady and over powered her and tied her hand and mouth with cloth and locked her in the bathroom. They all drank liquor and broke open three almirahs with one screw driver which they had brought and took out Rs. 70,000/- cash and fled away with other valuables from the house. They also visited one Karan Bahadur at Chunjhar, Himachal Pradesh where they gave him mobile of the deceased lady.
Another accused Karan arrested:
On receiving the information about Karan, information was passed to Insp. Akhilesh Yadav, Spl. Staff/South-East Distt. who was already heading a team in Himachal Pradesh. The team apprehended and arrested Karan Bahadur S/o Kal Bahadur, age 24 years presently staying at Vill. Tahu, Tehsil Kotkhai, Himachal Pradesh permanent R/o Vill. Bhulli, Jumla Anchal, Nepal. One mobile phone Nokia belonging to the deceased has been recovered from his possession.
Recoveries made:
1. One Bag and one bed sheet from Jagat Bahadur.
2. One Mobile phone Samsung from Karan Bahadur.
3. One Screw Driver
Profile:
Jagat Bahadur, age 19 years, a resident of Nepal has studied upto 4th class and had earlier worked in Delhi as domestic help since 2006. He again came to Delhi after a gap of 2 years and got employment through the reference of Prakash working in Jangpura.
Karan Bahadur, age 24 years is married and had worked at the orchard at Kotkhai, Himachal Pradesh for seven years and at present was working at vill. Tahu, Himachal Pradesh for the last two years. The three accused had gone to him in November 2011 and stayed for two days. In Dec. 2011 Jagat Bahadur again went to Himachal Pradesh and gave the mobile phone to Karan.
Further investigation is continuing to arrest the other accused persons. The team which has conducted an outstanding investigation is being suitably rewarded.
