PM to hand over job letters to 1 lakh youth


Hyderabad, Nov 21(Hyderabad Deccan News): The Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has said the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh will hand over job appointment letters to un-employed youth, under its flagship scheme the Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu, by end of this December or January first week in 2012, in the city.
He was speaking at Industry Meet organized by Rajiv Education and Employment Mission here on Monday. He informed the State government would prepare job appointment letters to one lakh un-employed youth by end of December. He said that about 1.60 lakh posts are vacant in the various government departments in the state. He stated they would release notifications to jobs by end of December this year. He informed that the state government has set a target to provide five lakh private sector jobs to en-employed youth in the next one year in the state.
According to Confederation of Industry of India (CII), Kiran Reddy said that about eight lakh jobs will be created only in one year in the state. He said that they have set a target to provide 15 lakh jobs to youths by 2015. He also said that the State government would set up large scale training centres to provide training to youth to develop industry- needed skills to get jobs.
He said that they would change the courses at under graduate level and revise syllabus up to Post Graduate level to develop industry- needed skills among the students. He informed that they have adopted Adilabad and Khammam districts under Rural Development for Skills Training and sanctioned Rs.120 crore fund to develop skills in rural youth. He said that they would introduce it in six districts shortly.
He said that a high level council 'Rajiv Education and Employment Council of Andhra Pradesh' (REECAP) would be set up under chairmanship Chief Minister with nine cabinet ministers, Principal secretaries of relevant departments and 10 representatives of the industry and academia for creating necessary policy environment and guiding the implementation process.
Minister for Major Industries J. Geeta Reddy said that the state has 70 percent youth in the age group of 16 and 35 years. She said that the State government has to accommodate them in jobs. She said that they have taken steps to provide employment to every house hold under Rajiv Yuvakiranalu Scheme.

Ramakrishna Reddy, CII representative Chitra, TCS State Coordinator Rajanna, NASCOM, NATCO Pharma, FICCI, FAPSSI, Sri City, Ramkey, representatives of Pharma, Infrastructure, textiles companies, higher officials also spoke.
