New magazine to focus on unseen Bollywood launched by Madhuri Dixit
Mumbai, July 15 (IBNS) Whenever one thinks of the film industry, the people who immediately come to mind are glamorous film stars, some well known directors, singers or famous music composers.
For every person who is enjoying this exalted status, there are hundreds of thousands who are striving to reach that point. It is not just students or trained media professionals who are desperately trying to make a mark in show-business, but all types of professionals like press journalists, engineers, architects, even doctors.
However, after a point, most of them inevitably get discouraged since they either don't get the right breaks, haven't met the right people, or simply don't know enough about career prospects in the film industry.
It was the idea of fulfilling this crying need for a genuinely informative film magazine that inspired the creation of "It's Cinema". The unique magazine was launched amidst a star-studded gathering of people from the film fraternity Saturday at a suburban hotel in Mumbai.
None other than screen diva Madhuri Dixit launched the magazine in the presence of several other biggies of the film industry, including Subhas Ghai.
Maharashtra Home Minister R R Patil was also present.
As India's first magazine focusing exclusively on film technicians and other professionals behind the screen, It's Cinema has been established with the sole purpose of demystifying the process of filmmaking and putting the limelight on the unknown but indispensable professions in the film industry, said the publishers.
For instance, few know that Bollywood actually boasts of around 300 different professions, all related to the creative process of film making. It is surprising facts like these that this unique magazine, published by D'fine Arts Studios Pvt. Ltd., aims to highlight in its forthcoming issues.
It's Cinema also boasts of an extensive Bollywood database that will be available online for all those who need their information at a glance. An exhaustive directory, it will cover all the details of a wide range of professionals from the film industry, like suppliers, service providers, products, hirers, studios, locations, location managers and all other companies or individuals related to filmmaking.
In addition, it is also a unique platform for creative individuals who, with their fresh talent, are eager to carve a niche for themselves in the industry, said the publishers.
This section will create a strong platform for all the aspiring artists to present their profile in a creative way, which is sure to grab the attention of those looking for new talent, they said.
In short, the magazine and the vertical portal cover everything that has anything to do with cinema, said those gathered at the launch.
