Muharram 2012 in India
The Muslim community on Sunday (Nov 25, 2012) observed the tragic custom of Muharram or the day of grief. Scenes from eastern city Kolkata where Shia Muslims took out mourning processions, beat drums and thumped their chests and whipped themselves as they bled and grieved for Prophet Mohammed's grandson Imam Hussain remembering his martyrdom on this day in Karbala in Iraq.
