Master Chef Sanjeev Kapoor holds workshop
Kolkata, Sept 10 (IBNS): Sanjeev Kapoor, the Master Chef, held a cookery workshop here on Sunday at an outlet of The Yellow Chilli, which is a casual restaurant chain from him serving popular Indian food with a twist.
The Yellow Chilli in Kolkata's Bangur Avenue organized the special event.
According to Kapoor, there are 30 Yellow Chilli restaurants and the chefs of Yellow Chilli of other states are brought to Kolkata to enrich the taste of the food which are special in other states.
Actress Pallavi Chatterjee, who was present at the workshop, also added a soothing touch to the whole environment of the cookery workshop. The chef and the actress together came up with a collection of 6 signature dishes.
Among them lip smacking dishes were hara bhara kebab, paneer takatak, motichoor ki phirni, kappa biriyani and Punjabi kadhi with rice balls.
Another dish which Kapoor has launched now was "palak chole in pita bread".
Kapoor said that he likes sweets which are made at Bengal. Starting from sandesh to Lavang Latika, all of these sweets are favourite to Sanjeev Kapoor.
He said that "alu posto" and "chorchori and luchi" are the two of his favourite dishes among Bengali vegetarian fares. He said that he is about to declare special dishes exclusively for Durga Puja.
At the end he said that the objective of the workshop on Sunday was to give a touch of innovation while cooking.
"Bengali food is known for its subtle flavours, sometimes fiery too. It comes to us sometimes as something replete with seafood and sweets! This is not true and I have tried to paint the right picture through the creation of The Yellow Chilli Kolkata, offering a menu that features pure vegetarian delicacies," he said.
