Shimla/Chandigarh, Aug 30 2013 (IBNS): A mild intensity earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale rocked parts of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh on Thursday, officials said. The epicentre of the earthquake, that struck at 3:43 pm, was located in latitude 31.4 degree north and longitude 76.1 degree east along the border of Hoshiarpur district of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, the Indian Meteorological Department said on its website.
No damage to life or property was reported.
