Kolkata, Oct 8 (IBNS): The South Bengal frontier of Border Security Force (BSF) informed about the achievements in operational front during the month of September here on Monday.

The BSF South Bengal frontier noted that the troops had seized 31742 bottles of Phensedyl, in the border area under PS - Bongaon, Bashirhat, Swaroopnagar and Gaighata in district 24 Parganas (North); PS - Hanskhali, Tehatta, Chhapra, Krishnaganj in Dist. Nadia; PS - Jalangi, Raninagar in Distt, Nadia and Bhagwangola in Dist. Murshidabad and Kaliachak, Raghunathganj, Baishnavnagar and Shamsherganj in Dist. Malda.

Troops of BSF seized 264 bottles of liquor in the border area under PS Hogalberia in Dist. Nadia, PS- Krishnaganj in Dist. Nadia, PS- Bashirhat in Dist. 24 Pgs (N), PS- Jalangi in Dist Murshidabad, officials informed.

BSF had seized 21.750 Kgs of 'Ganja' in the border area under PS Hogalberia in Dist.- Nadia; PS-Marutia in Dist. Nadia and PS-Jalangi in Dist. Murshidabad.

The South Bengal frontier said that BSF troops had further seized 530.072 grams of gold in the border area under PS Swaroopnagar in Dist. - North 24 Pgs.

BSF also seized 952 nos of rare star Tortoise value approx Rs. 3,18,92,000, 72 nos spotted black pond turtle value approx Rs. 22,09,680 and 45 nos narrow headed soft shell turtle value approx Rs.2,66,600 in the border area under PS Gaighata in Dist.- North 24 Pgs.

In addition, on Sept 29 BSF troops of seized 2 nos 7.65 mm pistol along with 4 magazines and 14 rounds of ammunition in border area of PS Kaliachak in District Malda.

Besides above, BSF troops deployed under South Bengal Frontier have seized contraband items and cattle worth Rs. 9,26,70,024 and apprehended 397 Bangladeshi illegal migrants during the month of Sep 2013.
