VH: Jagan is "Shani'

Hyderabad, April 29(Hyderabad Deccan News): Dubbing the YSR Congress Party Chief, Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, as "Shani' to the State, the Rajya Sabha member and senior Congress leader, Mr V Hanumantha Rao, has asked the BJP as to why it was adopting soft corner attitude towards Mr Jagan. He alleged that Mr Jagan was more dangerous than the BJP and added that late Dr YSR was flexible to some extent but not Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Speaking to the media at his residence here on Friday, Mr Hanumantha Rao said that Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy has changed his word today on joining hands with the BJP. He said that the BJP leaders were talking in a technical way and its senior leader, Mr M Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday said that his party was totally against reservations based on religion and were not making it clear that the BJP has no relations with Mr Jagan. He said that the BJP senior leaders like Ms Sushma Swaraj and Mr L K Advani speak well in Hindi but both were not speaking against Mr Jagan's corrupt practices.
Finding fault with Mr Venkaiah Naidu's argument that his party was weak in Kadapa and therefore it had decided not to contest there, Mr Hanumantha Rao asked whether Mr Advani was not their strength. Calling upon the Muslims to be wary about Mr Jagan, he asked them to cast their votes to the Congress party for their own safety and welfare. He also said that the Congress senior leaders, Dr P Shankar Rao and Mr K R Amos, were speaking about Mr Jagan's corruption and the Centre has initiated action against the persons who were involved in 2G-Spectrum and Commonwealth Games scams. He said that the Centre has taken into custody the leaders like A Raja and Suresh Kalmadi and it would initiate action even against Mr Jagan at an appropriate time. Refuting Mr Jagan's allegation that "Eenadu' Group Chairman, Mr Ramoji Rao, the "Andhra Jyothy' Managing Director, Mr V Radhakrishna, and TV9's Ravi Prakash were "Shanis' to the State, Mr Hanumantha Rao said that the real "Shani' to the State was none other than Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy. Asking Mr Jagan whether the Muslims would cast their votes if he sported a "cap', Mr Rao said that Mr Jagan was not removing his "cap' for the last four days during his campaign to attract the two-lakh Muslim voters.
Finding fault with Mr Jagan's argument that the Congress had come to power only because of his father late Dr YSR, Mr Hanumantha Rao asked Mr Jagan as to why his father did not bring the party to power during 1983 and 1999 elections being PCC president. Mr Hanumantha Rao said that in 1983, while the Congress registered thumping majority across the country, it got only six MP and 51 MLA seats in the State even after the elections held after Indira Gandhi's assassination. He said that in 1999, the party secured only 91 Assembly seats under the leadership of Dr YSR. He also said that late YSR never spoke against Ms Sonia Gandhi.
Recalling that late YSR used to say that Mr Hanumantha Rao was lucky enough because he has no sons, Mr Hanumantha Rao said that Mr Jagan troubled his father much. Alleging that Mr Jagan was 100 per cent "Shani' to the nation, he added that while Dr YSR worked for the sake of the party, Mr Jagan was working only for the sake of "power'.
