Two Nigerian fraudsters nabbed by Hyderabad Police

Hyderabad February 20/2012 (Hyderabad Deccan News) : The sleuths of Commissioner's Task force Central Zone Team, Hyderabad, nabbed two fraudsters who are trying to cheat the innocent people by in the guise of arranging US Dollars. Seized one brief case containing (25) black paper bundles, One Passport and Two ID cards.

Names of the Accused:

01.Tazan Ogba Efe S/o.Tazan, age 36 years, N/o.Oghara, Delta State, Nigeria.

02.Frederick Etebefia S/o.Etebefia, age 40 years, N/o.H No.7, Warri Aka Street, Delta State, Nigeria.

M.O and Brief Facts of the case:

The A1 Tazan Ogba Efe came to India by obtaining Indian visa in the guise of taking medical treatment and staying at Mumbai. In Mumbai A-1 came into contact with co-Nigerians who are into the business of cheating innocent people in the guise of arranging US Dollars as Joint venture Business to earn easy money. On coming to know about plans of A-1, the A-2 Frederick Etebefia has shown interest and joined hands with him. The A-2 came to India by obtaining Indian Visa (Business Visa) and staying at Mumbai.

Initially the accused are contacting/luring/attracting the people by sending spam mails in the guise of investing/arranging amounts of $ 10 Million US Dollars from Barclays Bank, UK to the companies in India as 'JOINT VENTURE BUSINESS'.

Whenever any innocent person responds to the mails given by the accused, the accused contacts such person on phone and introduce them that they are working for US embassy. Further the accused are making the persons to believe that they change the black colour papers of $ 100 US Dollar size by using chemicals by giving demonstration, as carrying original Dollars is un safe.

In the process the associates of accused by name Denis Joy and Alfred Kainyame came to Hyderabad and cheated one person in Hyderabad to the tune of Rs.20 Lakhs when he has shown interest and contacted them through mails.
When the victim again contacted them on the same mail from different e-mail ID, this time the accused A-1 & A-2 responded to the victim and informed that they are interested to invest amount as 'joint venture business' at Hyderabad. On which the victim requested the accused to come to Hyderabad for the deal. On which when the accused came to Hyderabad along with a brief case containing black colored papers, the accused were nabbed at Lumbini Park after laying trap.

Never respond to the mails, that trap you that they have Black currency and they will know the method to convert in to original currency.

Never believe the version of any Nigerian/people that they can provide you extra profits, lotteries etc. Beware there are multiple ways of Nigerian frauds.

Never respond to emails that request you to furnish your credit card information via email, and don't ever respond to emails that ask you to go to a website to verify personal (and credit card) information. These are called 'phishing' scams.

Never respond to the emails or SMSs that declares that you have one million dollars lottery.

Never respond to the mails, that trap you that they have Black currency and they will know the method to convert in to original currency.

Be very careful to whom you give your credit card. Don't give out your account number over the phone unless you initiate the call and you know the company is reputable. Never give your credit card information when you receive a phone call. (For example, if you're told there has been a 'computer problem' and the caller requests you to assist him in verification information.) Legitimate companies don't call you to ask for a credit card number over the phone.

Never provide your credit card information on a website that is not a secure site.

Never give your personal Identification, address and other confidential information to the people whom you do not know.

The arrested accused persons along with seized material are being handed over to SHO Saifabad Police Station for necessary action.

The arrest made under the supervision of Sri Ch.Ramchander, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Commissioners Task Force by Sri Ch.Y.Srinivas Kumar, Inspector of Police with the assistance of SIs and the Staff of Central Zone Team, Commissioner's Task Force, Hyderabad.
