Surprise check was conducted in Karimnagar By Anti Corruption Bureau Seized TATA Victa and Rs.3,62,640/-

Hyderabad 22 December 2011 (Hyderabad Deccan News) : On credible information, a surprise check was conducted in Karimnagar Town on 13-12-2011 by intercepting a TATA Victa vehicle belonging to the Officials of the Excise department and Rs.3,62,640/- was seized from Sri Siva Prasad, C.I., Prohibition and Excise Enforcement, STF, Hyderabad (A.O.1), Sri Ch.Balanarsimha, Excise S.I., Prohibition and Excise Enforcement, STF, Hyderabad (A.O.2) and Sri M. Yadagiri, Excise Inspector, Excise II Town Godavari Khani, Karimnagar District (A.O.3) under the cover of a panchanama.
The first two accused Officers were the members of one of the 08 State Level Special Task Force Teams (STF) based in Hyderabad and visited this district specifically for collection mamool . A case was registered by the ACB and the accused Officers were arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 14-12-2011.
Based on the evidence and clues collected, searches were conducted in the office premises of one of the liquor syndicate leader in Karimnagar by following due process of law and the books of account maintained in the form of manual records and in the computers were seized.
These 08 state level Task Force Teams based in Hyderabad to enforce laws pertaining to the sale of liquor over and above M.R.P. etc. by visiting the districts as allotted to them and by booking cases against the violators. This warranted collection of evidence about their activity and collection of illegal money from other districts and for this purpose, searches were conducted in 33 places spread over the entire state by following due process of law on 14th, 15th and 17th December, 2011.
During these searches, 25 files, 105 books of account, 275 loose sheets, 06 hard disks, one CPU, 02 Data Recovery Compact Discs were seized under the cover of panchanama and all these seized records have been submitted before the II Additional Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases at Hyderabad on 22-12-2011 AN.
The ACB has ensured that all its actions in this particular case as in other cases are done strictly in accordance with the due process of law and established protocols for investigation. Preliminary scrutiny of these seized records revealed that only the designations of various public servants who were alleged to have received illegal money periodically were mentioned.
The matter is sub judice and ACB will submit final investigation report to the Government after completion of investigation.
