Students of Osmania University Campus were arrested for attack on cinema crew


Hyderabad February 22/2012 (Hyderabad Deccan News) : Mr. Konagala Mahesh, President of TVIV (Telangana Vidyarthi Ikya Vedika) and his associate students P. Praveen Kumar, M. Naresh, K. Gopi Krishna were taken into custody today i.e on 22-02-2012 when they are disrupting the film shooting " DARUVU " starring Ravi Teja - Tapsi being directed by Shiva. The students damaged the shooting lights and the front glass door of APSRTC Hospital, Tarnaka by farming themselves into unlawful assembly.

On the complaint of Mr. Boddal Rambabu, production Manager of M/s Sri Venkateshwara entertainment limited, registered a case in Cr. No. 72/2012 U/S 147, 148, 448, 341, 506 r/w 149 IPC, Sec 3 of PDPP Act and Sec 7 (1) of Criminal Law Amendment Act and took up the investigation.

During the course of investigation, the above 4 persons were taken into custody, while other 4 students of Manjeera Hostel are still at large. Efforts are continuing to arrest the remaining 4 persons.

The students disrupted shooting by taking forcible entry into RTC Hospital armed with stones and stick, argued with the crew of the film production by raising slogans as " JAI TELANGANA - JAI JAI TELANGANA" .

The cinema unit though obtained permission from RTC authorities have not informed the local police nor obtained permission from the Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad city. As such it is advised the cine units who are intended to shoot their movies in Hyderabad City. shall invariably inform the local Police or obtain prior permission from the Head Office, so that the local police will able to handle the situation of this type, by deploying required force.
