Hyderabad November 23 (Hyderabad Deccan News) : Schools are the basic units of an educational system and it is here the children spend the formative years of their life, said the Governor Sri ESL Narasimhan here today.
The stronger the foundations of school education, the greater the possibilities of their progress, he said.
Speaking at inaugural function of Association of Schools for the Indian school Certificate, at Rama Devi Public School, Ramoji Film City, the Governor said it is unfortunate that the school education has become commercial and the teaching standards are also not up to the mark.
He directed the school principals and teachers who have attended the three day conference from different schools from various States in the country to debate the subject and draw a road map to set certain benchmarks.
He appealed to the private managements to make the school education affordable to all people.
An effective education system is one that responds to the challenges of its time and the Governor urged the teachers to teach about the different aspects of human history.
The talented youth are an asset to the nation, the youth need much guidance from the teachers, he said.
Earlier the Chief of the Film city Sri Ramoji Rao and others spoke and lighted the lamp as a mark of inauguration of the conference.
