Prohibition and excise enforcement officers held by ACB in Karimnagar


Hyderabad 15 December 2011 ( Hyderabad Deccan News) : On credible information, a Surprise Check was conducted on 13-12-2011 by intercepting a Tata Victa Vehicle bearing No.AP 16B 7966 at 5.20 PM on the main road in front of ZP Office, Karimnagar.

The inmates of the said vehicle were Sri K.Sivaprasad, 53 years, Inspector of Police, Prohibition & Excise Enforcement, Special Task Force, Hyderabad, Sri Ch.Balanarsimha, 37 years, Sub-Inspector of Police, P&E both members of the state level special Task force with head quarters at Hyderabad and Sri M.Yadagiri, 57 years, Excise Inspector, II Town Excise , Godavarikhani and Sri M.Ramesh, Driver of the said vehicle. An unaccounted amount of Rs.3,62,640/- which was in a bag was seized from the possession of the Driver.

When Sri Ramesh, Driver was interrogated, he revealed that the amount was collected as mamools from wine shop owners, bar and restaurant owners of Karimnagar District and also from Excise officials by Sri K.Siva Prasad & Sri Ch.Balanarsimha and further revealed that Sri M.Yadagiri came and handed over an amount of Rs.24,000/- to the above two individuals as part of mamools to the Excise, STF officials.

Following the Surprise Check and based on the evidence available, a case was registered and Sri K.Sivaprasad, Sri Ch.Balanarsimha and Sri M.Yadagiri were arrested on 13-12-2011 and they were produced before the Honourable 1st Additional Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad on 14-12-2011 for judicial custody.
Case is under investigation.
