Hyderabad: Din over remarks against CBN
Hyderabad, Feb 26(THD NEWS): The Deputy Speaker, Mr Nadendla Manohar, who was in the chair, was constrained to adjourn the Assembly to Tuesday (March 2) when the Telugu Desam members stormed the podium and picked up an argument with the presiding officer vehemently objecting to the comments made by the Chirala MLA, Mr Amanchi Krishna Mohan, against their floor leader, Mr N Chandrababu Naidu. Giving an explanation on the alleged sand quarrying scam by the TDP member, Mr Revanth Reddy, against him, Mr Krishna Mohan made it clear that he was ready to face any inquiry, including CBI, House Committee or CB-CID into the allegations against him. He said that he and his brother, Mr Srinivas, were ready to accept any punishment, if the allegations were proved. He said that his brother had filed an appeal to the government seeking relaxation when the Vigilance and Enforcement report recommended recovery of amount from him in the alleged sand scam. Had my brother no right to file an appeal before the government? he asked. The alleged scam was nothing but a pre-meditated plan hatched by his brother's rivals and the Opposition members should elicit and confirm the facts before making allegations against other members and their family members, he opined. Mr Krishna Mohan also criticized the TDP chief, Mr Nara Chandrababu Naidu, for targeting a senior member like him. He pointed out that Mr Naidu had obtained stay orders from the courts on several cases filed against him and dared Mr Naidu to get the stay orders vacated in the cases pending against him. Strongly objecting to the remarks, the TDP members rushed to the podium of the Speaker and vociferously argued with the Deputy Speaker. The Deputy Speaker adjourned the House for 10 minutes at 11.52 am. After the House reassembled, the TDP members again rushed to the podium when Mr Krishna Mohan rose to complete his speech. Even amidst uproar by the TDP members, Mr Krishna Mohan finished his explanation. Later, the Deputy Speaker adjourned the House to meet again on Tuesday, March 2 at 9 am.
