Houses under Indiramma scheme to get free sand
Hyderabad, September 21 (INN): Minister for Housing Uttam Kumar Reddy on Friday said that the government would provide sand, at free of cost, for construction of houses under Indiramma scheme.
Talking to media persons at Secretariat, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the government has taken this decision as the scarcity of sand was impeding the construction of Indiramma Houses across the State. He said that the government would supply sand from any reaches for completing construction of houses under the Indiramma scheme. He said that the government would also handover 40 permitted sand reaches to AP Housing Corporation to complete construction of houses. He said that anyone can buy sand by paying Rs 325 per cubic metre from contractors of sand.
Stating that about 10.87 lakh houses were under various stages of construction in the State, he said that the government has granted another seven lakh houses under the scheme this month. He said that serious action would be taken against those who resort to irregularities in the construction of Indiramma houses. He said that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy would launch construction of 10 lakh toilets on October 1 across the State.
