Govt. directs utilities to fill up 8,539 vacancies by April, 2012
Hyderabad, January, 27/2012 (Hyderabad Deccan News ): In accordance with the policy of the Govt. of AP, for creating one lakh job opportunities in public sector alone, the Govt. have directed A.P. power utilities to complete the process of recruitment of 8,539 posts by April, 2012.
The Govt. of A.P., which have already accorded permission for APTRANSCO, four DISCOMs for taking up recruitment of 6,263 posts to render much better customer service in providing satisfactory power supply to the crores of electricity consumers of the State has recently given permission for the recruitment of 110 Junior Assistant (LDC) posts in APGENCO. Very recently APGENCO conducted written exams for filling up of 411 Nos. Assistant Engineer posts and 1755 Nos. Junior Plant Attendant posts for which recruitment process is underway.
All out efforts are being made by APTRANSCO, DISCOMs and APGENCO to complete the process of recruitment of the above mentioned 8,539 posts by the end of April and APTRANSCO is going to conduct the examination for 250 Assistant Engineer posts on Sunday (29.01.2012). APGENCO is also going to issue notification for filling up of 342 Nos. security guards/firemen posts soon.
Dinesh Kumar, Principal Secretary, Energy, Govt. of A.P. who has already discussed the recruitment process in AP power sector with top officials i.e. CMD/APTRANSCO Ajay Jain, MD/APGENCO K. Vijayanand, CMDs of DISCOMs, G. Anantha Ramu, Ahmed Nadeem, Ch. Narsimha Reddy, K. Vidya Sagar Reddy, and JMD (HRD)/APTRANSCO K. Ranganatham, had reiterated that all foolproof arrangements should be made for recruiting the vacant posts with total transparency and without giving any scope for malpractices. The Prl. Secretary directed CMDs to make HRD wings of respective utilities to closely monitor the recruitment process.
The employees of the power sector have been striving hard to provide better services to the consumers. All Electricity Unions and Associations of power utilities have thanked the Govt./power utilities for taking up recruitment of 8,539 staff in the initial cadres who are the backbone for improving the consumer service in rural and urban areas.
