Govt. directs power utilities to make foolproof arrangement for transparent recruitment
Hyderabad 10 December (Hyderabad Deccan News) : In tune with the policy of the State Government for creating one lakh job opportunities in the State in public sector alone, the Govt. have accorded permission for APTRANSCO & four DISCOMs for taking up recruitment of 6,263 posts to render much better customer service in providing satisfactory power supply to the crores of electricity consumers of the State.
Disclosing the above details, Dinesh Kumar, Principal Secretary, Energy, Govt. of A.P. who held teleconference in this regard with top officials of power sector today, said that, power utilities have taken a decision to recruit major chunk of posts in various cadres to create huge employment opportunities for the youth and to relieve the overburden on existing employees due to ever increasing work load and help the A.P. power utilities to run much more effectively and efficiently. The employees of the power sector have been striving hard to provide better services to the consumers. Accountability among the officers will also be further fixed to deliver the goods in a much better way.
The CMDs of APTRANSCO & DISCOMs, Ajay Jain, Anantha Ramu, Ahmed Nadeem, Ch. Narsimha Reddy, K. Vidya Sagar Reddy, and JMD (HRD)/APTRANSCO K. Ranganatham informed during the teleconference that Power Utilities are planning to issue NOTIFICATION for recruiting the above posts which have fallen vacant in various initial cadres such as Junior Line Man (JLM), Junior Assistant (LDC cum computer operator), Sub-Engineer and Assistant Engineer by 15th of December positively. The notification in this regard will be placed in the website of APTRANSCO i.e. www.aptransco.gov.in. The principal Secretary directed the officials that all foolproof arrangements should be made for recruiting the vacant posts with total transparency and without giving any scope for malpractices. APTRANSCO & DISCOMs have taken the initiative for filling up of all the vacancies in transmission and distribution sectors, which would ensure smooth functioning of systems besides improving job satisfaction. He also suggested CMDs to make HRD wings of respective utilities responsible and to closely monitor the recruitment process.
All unions and associations of APTRANSCO & DISCOMs have thanked the Govt. for according approval for recruiting the staff in the initial cadres who are the backbone for improving the consumer service in rural and urban areas. It is pertinent to note that recently P. Uma Shakar, Secretary, Ministry of Power, Govt. of India has declared that the power sector in the country has the huge capacity to create 6 lakh job opportunities in the 12th plan (2012-2017) in power sector in the country, the Principal Secretary reiterated and further mentioned that plenty of opportunities are there in the power sector of AP too in future.
