Free zone: Govt opts for temporary promotions in Excise departs

Hyderabad, Dec 9 (Hyderabad Deccan News): Following orders by the government, the Commissioner of Prohibition and Excise has ordered that temporary promotions to be affected against direct recruitment vacancies in Hyderabad Zone
The Hyderabad Zone consists six districts - Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Mahabubnagar, Nizamabad, Nalgonda and Medak.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Prohibition and Excise TN Venkataswamy, out of 152 vacancies, 71 have been given to Junior Assistants and 81 to Excise Head Constables. He said that these are the highest number of promotions which been effected in category of Prohibition and Excise Sub-Inspectors.
The Dy Commissioner further added that while effecting the promotions, the rule of reservation has been scrupulously followed and in respect of four vacancies meant for ST Junior Assistants, the same have been kept vacant as no qualified candidates are available.
All the relevant orders of AP Administrative Tribunal and High Court have been taken into consideration and such cases have been examined according to rules.
As per the guidelines issued by the Commissioner of Prohibition and Excise, in this regard, all Deputy Commissioners of Zone VI - T N Venkataswamy, G Koteswara Rao, V Umamaheswara Rao, C Janardhan, Veerender Singh, and O Narasimhulu met on December 7 and finalized the postings and allotments to newly promoted Sub-Inspectors after due consultations, he revealed.
On promotion, no individual has been posted in the same excise unit from where he is posted, Mr Venkataswamy stated.
