Former Deputy Executive Engineer Bhimavaram convicted in ACB Case.

Hyderabad February 22/2012 (Hyderabad Deccan News) : The Special Judge for SPE & ACB cases, Vijayawada convicted Sri P. Satyanarayana Raju, formerly Deputy Executive Engineer, Bhimavaram Municipality, Bhimavaram, West Godavari district on 22-2-2012 and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of six months and to pay a fine of Rs. 2,000/- and in default of payment of fine to suffer simple imprisonment for one month for the offence punishable U/S. 7 of P.C. Act, 1988 and also sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of one year and to pay a fine of Rs. 3,000/- and in default to suffer simple imprisonment for three months for the offence punishable U/s. 13(1) (d) r/w 13(2) of P.C. Act, 1988. Both the sentences were ordered to run concurrently.

Earlier he was trapped by the ACB on 2-12-2004 when he demanded and accepted bribe of Rs. 2,000/- from the complainant for showing the official favour of check measuring the works executed by the complainant to process and forward the bills to Executive Engineer for releasing the payment for the works which have been executed by the complainant.
