Ex-maoist Sambasivudu meets HM

Hyderabad, May 24: Former Maoist leader Sambasivudu, who plunged into separate Telangana agitation, on Monday met the Home Minister, Ms Sabitha Indra Reddy, and presented a memorandum seeking permission to his Telangana Sadhana yatra and public meeting in Bhongir on May 25. The Bhongir police in Nalgonda district a few days ago reportedly stopped the bus yatra of Sambasivudu alias Konapuri Ilaiah on the ground that there was no permission to his bus yatra. Therefore, the former Maoist met the Home Minister today and sought her intervention and permission for his bus yatra. Talking to mediapersons later, Sambasivudu said that he launched bus yatra for the cause of Telangana statehood. He regretted that the police have not allowed him to launch bus yatra from Bhongir stating that there was no permission to it. The former Maoist reiterated that he would work for the cause of Telangana. He strongly felt that the police were trying to suppress the Telangana movement by putting restrictions on meetings and bus yatras of Telangana activists. He also disclosed that he would approach the Human Rights Commission and even court for permission to his bus yatra. Sambasivudu requested the Home Minister to direct the police to grant permission for his bus yatra. The Home Minister assured to examine his request.
