Education to be free, compulsory in Telangana State: Chandrasekhar

Hyderabad, June 27 (Hyderabad Deccan News): The Telangana Rashtra Samithi, if it comes to power in a separate Telangana state, would make education compulsory and free.
Addressing a gathering of TRS supporters on Sunday, party chief K Chandrasekhar Rao said that his party would push for "education for all' policy in the newly carved state. He said that if his party comes to power in the yet-to-be-created state, it would support students from "KG to PG'.
All education would be free and compulsory in the proposed state. KCR said that the police would be given powers to ensure that a child reaches the school.
The TRS chief further said that if any child is seen not attending school, then the police personnel would be suspended. He said that this would ensure 100 per cent literacy rates.
KCR was addressing his party workers before he flagged them off to the 119 Assembly constituencies in Telangana region to enrol members for the party.
He exhorted the party workers to enrol as many members as possible since the TRS would be able to turn the separate Telangana dream into a reality, and for this the party needed mass support.
He said that he saw nothing wrong in the fast-unto-death taken by BC Welfare Association president R Krishnaiah.
