Cartoon Network celebrates 'Oggy & the Cockroaches' new house party with Hyderabad students
Hyderabad, Aug 28, 2012: Over 500,000 students from 550 schools across 8 cities in India will get the opportunity to be a part of the housewarming parties for 'Oggy and the Cockroaches', a recently acquired show by Cartoon Network. In an 8 week-long School Contact Program (SCP) called 'Oggy di New House Party' kids will be entertained with fun activities, games and goodies. Through this SCP, Cartoon Network aims to bridge the gap between kids and their favourite toon stars.
In Hyderabad, 'Oggy di New House Party' will be carried across 65 schools until end August. Using the hilarious and fun-loving nature of Oggy and the three cockroaches, the SCP is designed to make sure that kids from standard 1 to 8 are treated to the most entertaining time of their lives in true cartoon style.
To add to the excitement, Ben 10 made a surprise visit at Gitanjali School, Begumpet on August 28 to join in the celebrations of welcoming Cartoon Network's newest family members. Children were thrilled to see their favourite toon star and were eager to groove and play games with him.
Commenting on this initiative, Monica Tata, General Manager, Entertainment Networks, South Asia, Turner International India, said, "We have always believed in providing exciting on-ground experiences to our young viewers so that they can interact and bond with characters they love to watch on Cartoon Network. This year's SCP is focused on building connect between kids and the new on-air destination of Oggy and the Cockroaches."
Cartoon Network's SCP will be conducted across Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Coimbatore and Madurai from July 23 - August 30, 2012. 'Oggy Di New House Party' powered by Londonderry (a new candy with rich caramel & milk from Parle) in association with Dabur Red Toothpaste, Dabur Real Juice & Brittania Tiger Krunch.
In an Asia Pacific deal announced earlier this year, Cartoon Network acquired the mega-hit, animated comedy series - 'Oggy and the Cockroaches' from leading French animation studio Xilam. The series revolves around Oggy, a big, lazy cat whose smooth existence is made disdainful by three cockroaches that never stop troubling Oggy. This hilarious, laughter-riot show airs every Monday-Friday at 3pm on Cartoon Network.
