On 19-02-2013, on a tip off, the North Zone Task Force team along with Officers of Commissioner of Food Safety, GHMC and Drug Controlling Department conducted raid on a shop bearing premises No. 9-4-189, Rezimental Bazar, Secunderabad and found a person who was indulged in adulteration of milk, selling banned veterinary drug to various milk vendors for illegal gain without any valid license from the concerned authorities. Found 25 bags of non ISI branded milk powder, 40 bags of ISI branded milk powder, 1000 Oxytocin ampoules (banned drug), 130 bottles of Oxytocin liquid without any label, 250 liters of hydrogen peroxide and 400 hypodermic syringes.

Details of accused:

Later he started selling adulterated milk, milk powder, and chemicals like hydrogen Peroxide, Oxytocin ampoules, Hypodermic Syringes etc without any valid permission from the concerned officials at premises No. 9-4-189, Regimental Bazar, Secunderabad.

Details of the case:
Damodar used to purchase non ISI brand milk powder from Bowenapally and Begum Bazar areas and sell the same to the milk vendors by charging extra amount. Many milk vendors of City and Outskirts purchased the milk powder in retail from Damodar and Damodar helped them in mixing the milk powder with water by adding only 1/10th part of the original milk. To prepare ten liters of milk he was using one Kg milk powder, nine liters of water, one liter of original milk and 15 ml of Hydrogen Peroxide. Hydrogen Peroxide gives thick lather and foam to the milk. One liter of milk prepared costs only about Rs. 15/- and they sell it for about Rs. 35/-.
