A. Raghuram, Extension Officer, Panchayatraj & Rural development, M.P.D.O., Kovur, Nellore dist was caught red handed by the A.C.B. Officials at about 1.10 p.m. on 07-12-2012 when he demanded and accepted Rs. 5,000/- as illegal gratification from the complainant for doing official favour for counter singing on cheque issued for Rs. 35,000/- towards part bill for the completion of work executed by the complainant of "welcome arch" at Pothireddy palem village Kovur Mandal, Nellore dist.
The chemical test conducted on the right hand fingers of the Accused officer and yielded positive results. Tainted amount of Rs. 5,000/- was recovered from the possession of the A.O.
The A.O. is being arrested and produced before the Hon`ble Special Judge for S.P.E. & A.C.B. Cases, Nellore.
Case is under investigation.
