17 Khadimul-Hujjaj appointed: Ahmadullah
Hyderabad, July 20(Hyderabad Deccan News): The Minister for Minorities Welfare, Mr Mohammed Ahmadullah, has announced the selection of 17 Khadimul-hujjaj (Haj volunteers) belonging to various State government departments through draw of lots after their interviews at the Haj House here on Monday. Three more will be drawn from State Wakf Board and State Haj Committee, he added.
The minister stated that the Khadimul-hujjaj are appointed in the ratio of 300:1. In view of this ratio, for the 6,027 Haj pilgrims, 20 Khadimul-hujjaj will be deputed this year. Out of the 17 Khadimul-hujjaj selected on Monday, five belonged to the Telangana region and four each were picked up from the Rayalaseema, Andhra regions and the twine cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. One candidate each from all the three regions and twin cities were also selected through drawal of lots, he stated.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Ahmadullah said that the Haj Committee will provide all assistance to the Haj pilgrims. The Khadimul-hujjaj, drawn from the government departments are selected for deputation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to serve and guide the Haj pilgrims from the State during Haj 2010.
The minister advised the selected Khadimul-hujjaj to work sincerely and report the problems faced by the pilgrims in KSA to the Haj Mission authorities and the State Haj Committee officials. There had been complaints of the negligence and lethargy on part of the Khadimul-Hujjaj in the past, but the government was deputing the Khadimul-hujjaj with a hope that they would render useful services to the pilgrims. The arrangements were made under the supervision of Mr Habeebuddin, Executive Officer, State Haj Committee.
Earlier, a panel of Ulama and experts, including Moulana Mufti Syed Sadeq Mohiuddin Faheem, former member of State Haj Committee, Moulana Syed Azam Ali Soofi Sahab, Moulana Syed, Mustafa Sayeed Quadri Sahab, Moulana Tajammul Hussain, Moulana Mohammed Azamuddin Siddiqui, Moulana Khaja Moinuddin, Moulana Mohammed Rizwanullah, Janab Abdul Fateh Syed Bandagi Badeshah Quadri and Hafiz Mohammed Saber Pasha interviewed 120 candidates.
Mr Syed Shah Noorul Haq Quadri, advocate, Mr Syed Raza Hussain Azad, Mr Shahed Peeran, Mr Mohammed Jahangir and others were present.
