We need to have new and comprehensive, economic and foreign policy
Hyderabad Deccan News : They say change is inevitable, change is for good and change is always for better. Going with this we must also make time to time changes in our economic, foreign and internal policies. Since ages people have come up with so many theories based on their observation and research but after some time the same theories were discarded or became useless when someone else did further research on the same subject and came up with new conclusions and findings.
The policies we are following are drafted decades ago which are not in sync with present situation, though there have been some changes made in the past but still the core of the thinking is same, first after independence we followed the policy of close and controlled market which was inspired by communists. Then we adopted mixed economic policies which did not yield any thing. The we adopted open market economic policy which worked earlier then now it is on the verge of collapse. We are it seems blindly following the western policies perhaps inspired by their previous success.
Second is our foreign policy, we have not had any impressive foreign policy; we have always remained inclined towards one power or the other even though we say that ours is non aligned and independent foreign policy.
Our internal politics is another subject of concern, there is corruption red tapism and expenditures which are good for nothing. We have interlinked so many matters of unimportance; decisions are made to felicitate the loot of exchequer by top bureaucrats, industrialists, coteries and elected representatives.
A government does not function to make just the party members of ruling party happy or a few members opposition parties but it has to have an eye for the growth of every individual of this country.
Let's take for example our foreign policy, the main attention is Pakistan and Kashmir centric, then we want to keep USA and a few other western countries happy. In this web we are loosing so much of money on wasteful activities, a big junk of budget is allocated for Kashmir and related security expenses, we can not change this by reaching a meaningful dialogue with Pakistan as this gives an electoral set back to any party which tries this, to keep USA and party happy we are unnecessarily avoiding oil producing countries such as Iran , Iraq and Libya resulting losses to oil companies who otherwise would have imported oil on lesser price and also against rupee.
What we need now is to change the perception of our policy makers for this we need to have a whole new lot of people in every sphere of governance. We are fed up with same old faces playing a kind of musical chairs in forming governments, becoming ministers and carving policies. The new faces need not be inexperienced kids but they may be serious and sincere experienced ones from all walks of life and profession.
