Need iron hand to curb the menace of flesh trade

Hyderabad December 29 : Every other day we see the arrests of a few sex workers and pimps, sometimes a few customers are also arrested. The question is how come this illegal business is going on in spite of so much effort of police. What we can assume is that there is either some nexus between law enforcing agencies and these criminals or the moral of our society has reached the bottom line. However both the facts are worrisome for a healthy society. It is seen in many cases that these people do not give it a damn to the actions taken against them, as soon as they get free they start their activity in other location in other guise. Most of the women are dragged into this trade by false promises by showing them a better future in the name good job offers, getting a chance in glamour world, by marriage or by simply advertising in the popular news papers asking to join some friendship club. Shrewd men and women thus trap their victims and never ever let them get back to normal life. Government and a few NGO's are only interested to take steps to prevent AIDS and STD but hardly any one is interested to find a real solution to this ever increasing problem, means they do not have much problem with brothels and sex workers.
This see-saw will go on unless the government and police machinery tackles this problem with iron hand and zero tolerance. This menace has become a point of concern for the society as it leads to many other related problem to the citizens, if we keep the immoral act of people who are going to sex workers as a personal matter then also we are concerned that this is encouraging crime and making more criminals, traffickers are luring innocent girls and many a times trapping them in this act, according to UNICEF majority of the sex workers are forced into this trade by the traffickers. Police and other agencies must look into the modus operandi of these gangs and tackle them at the grass root level, otherwise any superficial action will not stop the flesh trade not only in our city but also in our country.
