Tech Mahindra, Mahindra Satyam jointly executing projects

Hyderabad, Sept 3(Hyderabad Deccan News): Even before the official process of integration of Tech Mahindra and Mahindra Satyam commenced, execution of projects is being shared between the companies, highly placed sources said on Friday.
a€oeWe are working jointly in marketing and execution of various projects. Major telecom projects are being diverted to Tech Mahindra as they have expertise in the domain,a€ sources associated with both the companies told repoters.
Recently, telecom major MTNL awarded a contract of the converged billing solution project to a consortium of ten members that includes Mahindra Satyam, BEL, and IBM.
According to a senior official of T ch Mahindra, they have reportedly set up joint task forces with 4-5 people, including one senior person each from TechM and Mahindra Satyam (earlier known as Satyam Computer Services) in areas of infrastructure, human resources, technology and purchases.
These groups decide on what initiatives can be done jointly.
Both the companies may use different name but have common orientation programs, use same resources and training during placements.
Sources said the project now is being handled by Tech Mahindra. The system will take about six months to develop and should be available to customers by year-end.
Both the companies are expected to merge with each other after the Restatement of Accounts is submitted to the Company Law Board before September 30.
a€oeThough the companies are two different entities as per law, the process of integration has begun. Most of the projects are being executed and monitored jointly,a€ sources said.
Meanwhile, Mahindra Satyam managed to clinch eight new customers in Australia despite the initial hiccups.
The company is hopeful of 20 per cent growth in headcount and revenue in that country.
Satyam had to log out of the proposed USD 75 million IT hubspread over 10 hectares that Ramalinga Raju, former disgraced Satyam founder had promised to set up in Victoria statea€™s second largest city of Geelong.
