Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has today bagged Rs 4,071 crore contract from Singareni Collieries Company Limited
New Delhi, Oct 11(RNI): The Public Sector Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has today bagged Rs 4,071 crore contract from Singareni Collieries Company Limited(SCCL) for setting up a 1200 MW thermal power plant in Andhra Pradesh.
The 2x600 MW unit super thermal power plant of the SCCL is expected to come up at Adilabad(Telangana Region) a BHEL release here said today. The scope of work envisages design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of steam turbines, generators and boilers, along with controls and instrumentation (C&I) and auxiliaries
including associated civil work.
BHEL had also bagged a Rs 3,800 crore order from Dainik Bhaskar Power Ltd last week, for setting up a 1,320-MW thermal power plant in Madhya Pradesh.
BHEL, with an established capacity to deliver 15,000 MW per annum, is poised to augment it to 20,000 MW.
It may be recalled that the Singareni coal mine workers struck work in support of the ongoing indefinite agitation for "separate Telangana" seriously affecting supply to various power stations in Andhra Pradesh eroding power supplies to even neighbouring states.
This had caused several hours of power cut to all the conssumers including farmers who had been crying to save standing crop with water while the authorities had announced power holidays to the industries following shutting down of several power units.
